When seeing is hearing

For those that are deaf, communication with others can be an extremely stressful part of their lives. Reading lips, environmental cues, and body language to understand speech can be overwhelming, and is often plagued with uncertainties.

Echoframes seek to empower the deaf community by providing an assistive tool for communication. The frames are embedded with a microphone and convert direct speech to text that is displayed on the lenses, allowing the user to simply view the conversation as it is occurring in their glasses.

By promoting audio accessibility, this technology serves as a platform for building inclusivity, tearing down communication barriers and focusing on what deaf people can do, rather than what they can’t.
